Key Features:
- High Absorbency: Capable of absorbing up to 20 times its weight, maintaining a moist wound environment.
- Gel Formation: Absorbs wound exudates to form a gel-like covering, which
supports the development of granulation tissue and promotes effective
wound healing. - Non-Adherent: The gel surface prevents sticking to the wound bed, ensuring painless removal.
- Antimicrobial Properties: Incorporates silver ions to provide broad-spectrum antimicrobial protection, reducing the risk of infection.
Mechanism of Action:
Upon application, the dressing undergoes ion-exchange between calcium in the dressing and sodium from the exudate, forming a soluble calcium/sodium alginate gel. This gel amplifies the clotting cascade, reducing bleeding during surgical interventions. The silver ions embedded in the dressing offer sustained antimicrobial activity, helping to prevent infection.

Contraindications:
- Patients with known sensitivity or allergy to silver
- Not intended for use on third degree burns
Usage Guidelines:
- Single Use: Do not use if the package is damaged.
- Duration: Do not leave the dressing on the wound for more than 7 days; continuous use should not exceed 30 days.
- Removal: If redness or allergic reactions occur, discontinue use.
