MD DME, LLC (“MD DME,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) provides durable medical equipment and wound-care supplies to patients and healthcare providers. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use and protect it, and the choices you have. It applies to our website, our provider and patient portal, and our communications with you, including text messages.
1. Information we collect
- Contact information — name, mailing address, email address, and mobile phone number.
- Order and delivery information — the products ordered for you, shipment and delivery status, and delivery confirmations.
- Health information — clinical information necessary to supply and bill for your equipment (for example, a provider’s order and supporting documentation). This may constitute Protected Health Information (see Section 4).
- Account and technical information — portal login credentials and standard technical data such as device and log information.
2. How we use information
- To process orders and coordinate and confirm the delivery of your supplies.
- To communicate with you about your orders, deliveries, and account — including by text message where you have provided your mobile number for that purpose.
- To provide customer support and respond to your requests.
- To meet legal, regulatory, billing, and payer requirements.
3. SMS / text messaging
If you provide your mobile phone number, we may send you transactional, service-related text messages such as delivery confirmations, requests to confirm receipt, wound-photo reminders, and order or account notifications. No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes, and text messaging opt-in data and consent are not shared with any third parties. You can reply STOP to opt out or HELP for assistance at any time. Full details are in our SMS Terms of Service.
4. Protected Health Information (HIPAA)
Some of the information we handle is Protected Health Information (“PHI”) governed by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). We handle PHI in accordance with HIPAA and our separate Notice of Privacy Practices. To keep PHI protected, our text messages are limited to brief, service-related notices; sensitive clinical details and documents are made available through our secure portal rather than by text or email.
5. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only as needed to provide our services and as permitted by law, including with:
- Service providers who act on our behalf (such as shipping carriers, our messaging provider, and payment or billing processors), under agreements that limit their use of the information to providing services to us.
- Healthcare providers, health plans, and payers as necessary to fulfill and bill for your order.
- Authorities when required by law or to protect rights, safety, and security.
Mobile phone numbers and SMS opt-in data are never shared with third parties for marketing.
6. Data security
We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your information, including encryption in transit, access controls, and audit logging. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and to limit the information contained in any text message.
7. Your choices
- You may opt out of text messages at any time by replying STOP.
- You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, subject to legal and recordkeeping requirements, by contacting us.
8. Children’s privacy
Our services are intended for adults and are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above. Material changes will be posted on this page.
